A Chronological History of Keller Masonic Lodge #1084
- Keller Masonic Lodge was chartered on December 4, 1913. Brother W. A. Bates was installed as Worshipful Master, Brother C.E. Robinson as Senior Warden, and Brother C.T. Miller as Junior Warden. It is believed that RW Zeb Jenkins was the installing officer and installation took place on February 13, 1914. The lodge met on Saturday nights.
- Brother W.A. Bates served as Worshipful Master for the Masonic years of 1913-1914, 1914-1915, and 1915-1916 in getting the lodge going. The stated meetings were to be held on the first Saturday after the full moon. The start was very good as there were 31 members accounted for in the Masonic year 1914-1915. Membership immediately started to increase and in 1915-1916 there were 42 members.
- Brother J.M. Maxey was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1916-1917 with a lodge membership of 43.
- Brother Sam Bass was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1917-1918 with a lodge membership of 44.
- Brother S.H. Thomas was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1918-1919 with a lodge membership of 48.
- Brother W.M. Woodall was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1919-1920 with a lodge membership of 52.
- Brother W.A. Bates was Worshipful Master for the Masonic years 1920-1924 with a lodge membership ranging from 49-54 members.
- Brother W.M. Woodall was Worshipful Master for the Masonic years 1924-1926 with a lodge membership ranging from 40-43 members.
- Brother Edwin C. Grimes was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1926-1927 with a lodge membership of 41.
- Brother D.W. Darby was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1927-1928.
- Minutes from the meetings during these early years were skimpy. Only very unusual happenings were recorded into the minutes. The original minute books were manufactured by the Department of Printing of the Masonic Home and School, located in Ft. Worth, Texas.
- Brother J. Ray White was installed as Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1928-1929. During this Masonic year, the lodge purchased new jewels.
- Brother Bert Owens was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1929-1930.
- Brother Lum Martin was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1930-1931.
- Brother James E. Jarvis was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1931-1932.
- Brother Hugh White was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1932-1933.
- Brother Bert Owens was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1933-1934.
- Brother I.W. Pearson was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1934-1935. During this Masonic year, the lodge decided to change their meeting nights from Saturday night to Tuesday night.
- Brother R.W. Blevins was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1935-1936.
- Brother C.G. Keller was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1936-1937.
- Brother Lum Martin was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1937-1938.
- During this depression era, the Lodge only held onto 30 members. Brothers Ray White and Jim Jarvies, who owned a small bank in Keller, paid most of the members dues, which were $5.00 per year.
- Brother W.A. Satterwhite was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1938-1939. On December 6, 1938, the lodge was opened for celebrating its 25th anniversary. Several brothers were going to give talks on the beginning of the lodge. It is believed that the talks were given at an open meeting after the regular meeting was closed.
- Brother Tom R. Tyler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1939-1940.
- Brother Royce Blevins was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1940-1941.
- Brother C.C. Kingsea was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1941-1942.
- Brother George Malaise was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1942-1943. It was during this year that the lodge purchased a new American Flag for the lodgeroom. It was officially presented to the lodge on April 6, 1943. Also, the lodgeroom was painted and the meeting time was changed to 8:30pm.
- Brother E. Neal Cooper was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1943-1944. In May 1944, the lodge purchased 24 lambskin aprons at a cost of $24.00. These were purchased so the lodge could start presenting them to each newly raised Master Mason. This practice has continued ever since. The lodge gave each member the opportunity to purchase one for themselves, at cost. The degree fees were also increased from $37.50 to $45.00.
- Brother R.L. Bray was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1944-1945. Thirty new white aprons were purchased for $12.00 and Tinletter equipment was purchased for $60.00.
- Brother Harry Rooke was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1945-1946. This year it was necessary to purchase a new setting mall.
- Brother Hale Riddle was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1946-1947.
- Brother Alfred Lee Pipkin was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1947-1948. During this year, the lodge decided to purchase "Notice of Stated Meeting" cards and send them to each member 3 days before each stated meeting. This was in an attempt to get better attendance at the meetings. In November, the lodge decided to reuphoslter the seats in the lodgeroom.
- Brother W.L. Keller was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1948-1949. The records of the lodge were becoming so numerous that filing cabinets were purchased along with a setting mall and a new Bible during this Masonic year.
- Brother Joe J. Brittan was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1949-1950. The lodge was painted in July 1949. On May 2, 1950, the dues were increased to $7.50 per year with $1.50 going to a building fund.
- Brother Bill W. Baxter was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1950-1951. In November 1950, Brother W.T. and Mrs. Hendry donated a set of officer's aprons and 37 white member aprons to the lodge. The aprons were made by Mrs. Hendry. Also, Brother Baxter was the first Past Master to receive a Past Master's Apron from the lodge on July 3, 1951.
- Brother Frank Chandler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1951-1952. This year, the lodge disconnected from butane gas and started using natural gas. Also, talks began about constructing a new lodge building. A special meeting was held in March 1952 to discuss the construction of the new building. In May 1952, the lodge presented Brother Chandler with a life membership, and decided to do so for each new Past Master.
- Brother W.R. Hardwick was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1952-1953. On August 16, 1952, Keller Lodge decided to join the Masonic Service Bureau. Brother Frank Chandler was the first representative from Keller Lodge. This year brought on the need for another filing cabinet.
- Brother W.T. Hendry was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1953-1954. The dues were increased to $10.00, and a picture of the lodge was taken and sent to Grand Lodge.
- Brother C.A. Anderson was Worshipful Master for Masonic year 1954-1955. In September 1954, Richland Hills Lodge was given permission to hold their meetings if their charter is granted and until their building is completed.
- Brother R.A. Sparks was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1955-1956. This year, the lodge purchased the secretary a typewriter.
- Brother C.A. Anderson was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1956-1957.
- Brother Wayne Orr was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1957-1958. Degree fees were also increased this year. The Entered Apprentice Degree fee was increased to $25.00, the Fellowcraft Degree fee was increased to $25.00, and the Masters Degree fee was increased to $25.00, with $10.00 going to the Masonic Home and School.
- Brother Billy Joe Williams was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1959-1960. In September 1959, the lodge decided to purchase a new building.
- Brother Joe M. Blackmon was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1960-1961. In October 1960, a committee was appointed to find a new location and a price for a lot to construct the new lodge building.
- Brother Hice C. Forester was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1961-1962.
- Brother E. Dale Judge was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1962-1963. In August 1962, the lodge purchased 1.4 acres that belonged to Kermit Jackson. Immediately after the purchase, a sign was placed on the property stating that it would be the new home of Keller Masonic Lodge.
- Brother James E. Wood was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1963-1964. This year marked the 50th anniversary of Keller Lodge. In June 1963, an easement was given to the North Tarrant County Municipal Water District for a sewer line on the new property. The old secretary's desk was given away in August of this year. This year, a brother from Denton, Texas donated the brick for the new building. In May of 1964, the plans to construct the new building were presented to the lodge.
- Brother James E. Maxwell was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1964-1965.
- The Cornerstone of the New Lodge Building was laid on 4th December 1965 by the Grandmaster of the Grand Lodge of Texas.
- Brother H. L. Wood was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1965-1966.
- Brother S. D. Coursey was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1966-1967.
- Brother Howard Reynolds was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1967-1968.
- Brother R.E. McGowan was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1968-1969.
- Brother V. L. Kee was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1969-1970.
- Brother L. L. Burton was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1970-1971.
- Brother Gerald F. Hollingsworth was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1971-1972.
- Brother Newton B. Ceat was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1972-1973.
- Brother Sam Lemaster was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1973-1974.
- Brother Robert Holloway was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1974-1975.
- Brother Billy Walker was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1975-1976.
- Brother Steve Hodge was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1976-1977.
- Brother Charles Reeves was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1977-1978.
- Brother Treye Phelps was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1978-1979.
- Brother Marshall Vaughan was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1979-1980.
- Brother Zack Sebastian was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1980-1982.
- Brother Bill Lamb was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1982-1983.
- Brother Lonnie Forester was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1983-1984.
- Brother Jimmy Reynolds was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1984-1985.
- Brother Clair M Billington was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1985-1986.
- Brother Jerry Walker was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1986-1987.
- Brother Rex Grimes was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1987-1988.
- Brother Tommy Judge was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1988-1989.
- Brother Richard D. Hudler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1989-1990.
- Brother Richard W. Hudler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic years 1990-1992.
- Brother Douglas Neal was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1992-1993.
- Brother Joe Hudler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1993-1994.
- Brother Mike Stephens was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1994-1995.
- Brother Loyd Harris was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1995-1996.
- Brother Richard W. Hudler was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1996-1997.
- Brother Jim Jenkinson was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1997-1998.
- Brother Mike Medford was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1998-1999.
- Brother Bobby Myers was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 1999-2000.
- Brother Billy Walker was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2000-2001.
- Brother Jerry Chamberlain was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2001-2002.
- Brother Ray Farmer was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2002-2003.
- Brother Clair Billington was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2003-2004.
- Brother Ike Pryor was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2004-2005.
- Brother Travis Frazier was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2005-2006.
- Brother Darren Bullard was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2006-2008. During this period, Keller Lodge reached 160 Members.
- Brother Roger Harn was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2008-2009.
- Brother R.D. Reynolds was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2009-2010.
- Brother Jeff Smith was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2010-2011.
- Brother David Ellis was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2011-2012.
- Brother David Wells was Worshipful Master for the Masonic year 2012-2013. During this masonic year the 100 year celebration was held with R.W. Walter W. Rogers as featured speaker.
- Brother Thomas J. Morgan was Worshipful Master for the Masonic Year 2013-2014. During this masonic year Keller Masonic Lodge officially reached it's 100 year Anniversary on December 4, 2013. The interior of the lodge sustained some significant damage to the flooring in the lodge room and kitchen/entry area due to some leaky roof vents (no longer in place) during the major ice storm the Metroplex received in December of 2013 and underwent some extensive renovations. It was completed in April 2014.
